bigtops Posted September 11, 2009 at 06:56 AM Report Posted September 11, 2009 at 06:56 AM What is the protocol, if any, for the equivalent of "slipping somebody a twenty" (twenty wouldn't get you much in most parts, though) in China? I'm not talking about taking some business partner out to gorge himself on shark fin and go get a full service massage after dinner. I'm also not talking about major bribes or asking anybody to break the law. More like, eh, you want a little something done and you're willing to throw a little cash at getting it done quicker. So how do you do this? Be frank and up front? Roundabout? Slip em a hongbao? Stuff a wad of hundreds down the fuwuyuan's brassiere? So many possibilities. Also: any idea how Chinese people might react? (not to the brassiere option, that I can pretty well guess) Quote
