cheershappydays Posted September 19, 2009 at 12:37 AM Report Posted September 19, 2009 at 12:37 AM Hello i'm new to this forum and I am very excited at the prospect of studying in Beijing (BLCU) to enrol in a chinese/mandarin course @ BLCU to start late Feb/early March 2010. Tried liaising with BLCU directly but am still confused with which course to do. Welcome your thoughts and in particular any existing/past students of BLCU to provide feedback/guidance. Thank you ;o) queries: 1. the 1 year course in chinese @ BLCU - how many hours is this a week ??? And is there 1:1 tuition ??? What has your experience/thoughts been of this course ??? 2. the 1 semester course with 1:1 tuition I understand is about 30 hours a week ??? What has your experience/thoughts been of this course ??? 3. not sure about accomodation......dorm on campus or renting a apartment external to BLCU ??? 4. are there many amercians & australians studying this course ??? Thank you again ;o) Skye Quote
ShawnLin Posted September 24, 2009 at 10:02 AM Report Posted September 24, 2009 at 10:02 AM I am a Chinese resident living very near BLCU, I could not answer questions about lessons in BLCU, but I found many thread and posts concerning the common questions. There are many international students living outside the campus by renting apartment. last year a girl from korea and a boy from france lived in my upstairs and downstairs. I found students in BLCU from many countries all over the world. So, of course, there will be many students from the USA and Australia. I think it may be easier for renting a apartment in Feb/March than in July, because most Chinese students graduated in June and July, so there are too many people find a apartment in hurry. Quote
