Starbucks. One of the 10+ locations. Coffee Beanery should have it to. Any large supermarket like Carrefour should also have something. Wether it be yunnan or something else.

No worries. Tip: the best deals on ground coffee are in Carrefour. Y30-40 per 250g of imported. At starbucks, you're looking at upwards of Y100.

Actually you can get it for as low as 70 or 80, typically more around 90 with some being more than a hundred. And if you are very particular about your coffee, starbucks is typically the better option. Carrefour may be a good deal but not the best flavor necessarily.

I'll check out Carrefour first.

Another question - does anyone know where to get a decent coffee maker for less than 250kuai?

What kind of coffemaker? A french press at Ikea is 99 kuai. Check out taobao as well for good prices. Can't guarentee that they are under 250 depending on what you want but it's a good start.

Sabrinas and Starbucks were the two places that I found what I was looking for. Carrefour only had instant coffee.

Sabrinas has the Yunnan coffee, and I found some Folgers there too for a great price.

I've been working in DuJiangYan and at the Trust Mart there, I can purchase Yunnan beans for 88rmb a kilo!! Fantastic price, in fact the best price I've ever encountered in China considering the quality....I don't go to Chengdu ofter, so I have not checked at Trust-mart there...

Of course Starbucks, but all their beans are imported from the US to ensure their characteristic bitter taste. Of course the Stbks beans are more expensive here than in the US...

I've never found roasted beans at Carrefour, though I have asked...

Is it possible to get Lavazza in Chengdu? If not, anyone know how Yunnan coffee compares? I'm guessing not too different from Laos coffee?
