A new version of Google Pinyin just came out. In the options dialog box, under the appearance section you see the following:

候选字个数

...and then a slider from 3 to 9

What does this mean?

I think it'll let you choose the amount of characters shown in the drop-down box when there are multiple possbilities Although I've never used Google Pinyin, so I cannot be sure.

Yep it is about how many "options" it will give you in a single row. I didn't realize there was a new one so had to go download it to find out.

muyongshi -- I noticed there was a login feature but I couldn't get it to work. Is this to sync up the program with your gmail acount?

Yup- that what it be. You have to have a gmail account to begin with for to work. Use your account and your account's password to activate that feature.

First，what‘s “候选字个数”？

In Chinese，One pinyin can type many “汉字”（in EN，that's word）

e.g.

type pinyin = “tianshang”

out word = “天上” “填上” “添上”

so，Google don't know which word you needed，because there are three words！

候选字个数，mean how many google show for u choose。
