kaox0018 Posted September 28, 2009 at 03:08 PM Report Posted September 28, 2009 at 03:08 PM I wrote a short email that I wanted to send to my friends but I found that this is quite difficult! Could I ask for some help in correcting any mistake I might have? Feel free to respond to my writing's content but I would mainly appreciate help with the grammar! ShawnLin Posted September 28, 2009 at 05:30 PM Report Posted September 28, 2009 at 05:30 PM it is OK I think your friends could understand the letter very well as a letter between friends, it is ok, but some words maybe too colloquial for formal place. Quote
kaox0018 Posted September 28, 2009 at 06:00 PM Author Report Posted September 28, 2009 at 06:00 PM Ok thanks! I had a few questions, there are some points I used the only word I know but I think there might be a better word. can you advise on these? 我在網路上看到許多關於娄婧非常歧視與充滿憎恨的英文評論,真的讓我不爽. I said 讓我不爽 but I think maybe I should I should write something like: 真的讓我感到委屈. Does this make sense? I feel that there is a great injustice on how Lou Jing and her mother are being treated but I am not sure how to express that. 我真想問寫這些無恥評論的人: would something like this make sense? 我真想問寫這些可惡,無恥評論的人... I want to express that not only are these comments shameful, they are also detestable much thanks! Quote
op108 Posted September 28, 2009 at 08:54 PM Report Posted September 28, 2009 at 08:54 PM 真的讓我感到委屈 will put one under the impression injustice is inflicted upon you, not Lou and her mother. I would amend the sentence to 真的讓我为Lou and her mother感到委屈. Quote
op108 Posted September 28, 2009 at 09:03 PM Report Posted September 28, 2009 at 09:03 PM I reckon few know 黃秋生 is of mixed parentage. He doesn’t like this aspect himself, obviously loathing his British father who abandoned him and his mother shortly after he was born. Quote
kaox0018 Posted September 28, 2009 at 09:45 PM Author Report Posted September 28, 2009 at 09:45 PM thank you so much! I also think many people don't know that 黃秋生's father is british, i didn't know for a long time! but I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate the comments made about Lou Jing's mother if they were also made about his own mother.
