Using Chinese

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm new here and I'm also very new to the Chinese language (2 months, to be exact!). However, I had come here with a specific goal in mind. When I was in junior high, I had a couple of friends where native Spanish speakers and conversed in Spanish often. I was taking a couple really simple Spanish classes at the time, but I could use it in an everyday situation with my friends and I learned the language very quickly at a basic level.

However, studying Chinese on a college campus hasn't brought up the same opportunity to practice the language with another person. Therefore, I was wondering how useful it would be for me to start posting in threads on this forum in places like "The Chinese Corner" and attempt to keep up conversations as well as I can. Does this sound like a good idea?

A language partner is probably the best thing you can do.

It can't be hard to find a Chinese person willing to practice Chinese in exchange for practicing English. Especially on a college campus.
