one_night_in_BJ Posted October 7, 2009 at 11:23 PM Report Posted October 7, 2009 at 11:23 PM Who loves this game? What are some of your winning strategies? How to play: Kind of like Bridge/Big 2. Directions here (note there are variations depending on who you're playing with. For example, to determine who gets to "bid" first you might be dealt a right-side-up card. Or maybe you won the last round...) Play online: Play with strangers or your friends for free with QQ 游戏 (must use full version of QQ and have download the games portion of the software. Can't use Tencent Messenger). Play on your iPhone/Touch: There are 2 good versions. 1. 欢乐都地主色费版 (Fight the Landlord Lite) by XINNONG WANG. Free. These menus are in English. You can only play 5 games in a row, after which your score resets. No big deal. Full version let's you play on and costs $0.99. I only have the "lite" version which worked fine for a week, then kept crashing. Delete and reinstall fixed the problem. 2. "Landlord Fighter" by 4A Volcano Computer Tech. Free. Apparently you can create an account, log in, keep track of your score. Also it's interesting because the other (computer) players will speak in different dialects, including Cantonese. Things you'll hear: 不叫 - I don't want to be Landlord 不要 - Pass 不出 - Pass 过了- Pass 强地主 - I bet more than you/I outbid you 不强 - I will not outbid you/let you have it Quote
muyongshi Posted October 8, 2009 at 02:39 AM Report Posted October 8, 2009 at 02:39 AM I just have a question: i always thought it was 抢 not 强. It's interesting that they have an iphone app. means when I get mine I might play more. I never enjoyed this game as much as 麻将. So in that sense I don't have a strategy cause I never played it much. I just enjoy the occasional game with a friend. Quote
one_night_in_BJ Posted October 8, 2009 at 06:40 PM Author Report Posted October 8, 2009 at 06:40 PM Oh, you're right, muyongshi, it's 抢地主 - qiǎng dìzhǔ for "I bet more than you/I outbid you" Quote
