rlinda_yuya Posted October 9, 2009 at 04:50 AM Report Posted October 9, 2009 at 04:50 AM Just got this from a local agent: First year student in HIT is not allowed to stay outside campus foreign students dormitory, unless the student can enroll in the 2nd level or above that. Is this true? this sounds like a very strange rule. I know uni want to make money from dorm but still... Quote
HangingClowns Posted October 9, 2009 at 05:12 PM Report Posted October 9, 2009 at 05:12 PM Weird, cause at HEU (where I am) a lot of Russian students have their own apartments off campus and they can barely speak Chinese. I know at my college in America, you're not allowed to live off campus unless you have senior status, which doesn't bother me at all. The part about that that bothers me is that they literally don't have enough space for students to be on campus. The school has to rent out several floors from the Best Western to accommodate for this "rule." (sorry to go off on a bit of a tangent) So, from my experience, it does sound like they want more money and they might want to justify it with that reason. I think it's good if you stay on campus, that way you have more students to talk to and study with, and you'll have some help if you need it (usually ) Quote
