jbradfor Posted October 17, 2009 at 02:21 AM Report Share Posted October 17, 2009 at 02:21 AM I can reach it fine. Maybe they had an anti-Australia episode or something and it's being blocked?
PhilipLean Posted October 17, 2009 at 02:31 AM Author Report Share Posted October 17, 2009 at 02:31 AM Well that would be ok, anything to get us into the news and massage our insecurity complex. I was wondering if they had overdone it with the episode and discussion on the parade. If you can see it then it must be a problem somewhere here. Daan Posted October 17, 2009 at 03:27 AM Report Share Posted October 17, 2009 at 03:27 AM Working fine in Taipei, too, so yeah, it would probably be an Australian problem

PhilipLean Posted October 19, 2009 at 12:55 PM Author Report Share Posted October 19, 2009 at 12:55 PM It seems it was simply my router having a hiccup and an unwanted security option needed to be turned off.
XiaoXi Posted October 23, 2009 at 04:13 PM Report Share Posted October 23, 2009 at 04:13 PM Do people really find Chinesepod.com that good? I hear a lot about it on this forum but having listened to it its 99.999% English on all the dialogues (certainly with beginner and Elementary levels). Also the guy has the strangest accent I've heard in a while.
imron Posted October 23, 2009 at 11:31 PM Report Share Posted October 23, 2009 at 11:31 PM I used to enjoy listening to their advanced stuff when it was free as it was usually quite entertaining, and more importantly all in Chinese. I couldn't really comment on their other lessons as I never really listened to them.
abcdefg Posted October 24, 2009 at 03:40 AM Report Share Posted October 24, 2009 at 03:40 AM Do people really find Chinesepod.com that good? It certainly isn't the greatest thing since the invention of sliced bread, but I still find it useful at the elementary level. Just listening to the dialogue without doing the additional exercises is not worth much, however, and using it that fuller way requires a paid subscription. Only the initial dialogue is free.
