Pengyou Posted October 19, 2009 at 02:53 PM Report Posted October 19, 2009 at 02:53 PM My friend just bought a new cell phone so he gave me his Treo. It is still in like new condition has was working well for him. He bought it used, and someone managed to change the OS to a Chinese OS. I am wondering if there is any way to get the English back? I was thinking about doing an upgrade of the OS (English). Would that write over it? I don't think it is one of the treos that was sold in HK with Chinese. It has the X-cingular logo on it. Quote
gato Posted October 19, 2009 at 03:28 PM Report Posted October 19, 2009 at 03:28 PM It probably has CJKOS installed, and CJKOS has an option for turning all English PalmOS messages into Chinese. See if you can turn that option off. See below for some screenshots of CJKOS. Hopefully you can figure out the right menu from there. The last picture on the page shows the "中文化" (or "localization") option. That's the one for turning all menu items into Chinese. You can uncheck it to turn it off. http://www.okpda.cn/News71229015744360.aspx Treo CJKOS Setting Quote
