confusion with same phrase 2 words

I'm slowly teaching myself Mandarin through My Chinese Coach for DS and in the phrase book it has two different words for the phrase "Don't worry."

1)bù yào dāngxīn 不要当新

2)bù yào dānxīn 不要担心

My question is, between dāngxīn/dānxīn, is there a difference based on male/female speaker or is one used over the other according to the mood of the discussion?

Thanks

I think that the first one is meant to be 当心. Still, the first sentence sounds weird.

当心 = take care, be careful

担心 = worried, to worry

The first sentence (without the typo) says "don't be careful". Which is a strange thing to say. Usually, you'd either advise somebody to 当心, or you'd advise them not to 担心.
