dgk3188 Posted October 27, 2009 at 10:04 PM Report Share Posted October 27, 2009 at 10:04 PM i'm looking into getting a tattoo of the taoist concept of "wu wei" on my wrist... im guessing its read from top to bottom..like this http://nkilkenny.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/wuwei2.jpg i'd just like to make sure it's correct if it's read from left to right because this is how i'd like it on my wrist. (the top character on the left...the bottom character on the right) thanks

Just in case...To place them from right to left wouldn't be wrong.
anonymoose Posted October 28, 2009 at 12:05 PM Report Share Posted October 28, 2009 at 12:05 PM Those characters are correct, but just be aware that the font is very stylized. The artist will need to copy it very accurately, otherwise it could end up looking quite wrong. For example, the squiggly line at the bottom of the second character is actually composed of four dots, all of which technically should be in the central white space, but as you can see, the fourth dot has extended to the right-hand side of the character. If the squiggly line is not drawn carefully, it could end up looking like the fourth dot is not connected to the other three, which would be bad.
