China. Huge country, big population and many many tallents!

Who's your favourite?

Do you have any favourite song(s)?

Just fun to compare people's music taste:D

I have many favourites. But my favourite group just has to be 凤凰传奇, they have so many great songs and both of them sing very good.

I also quite like a singer from 南京 called 朱小磊, he's quite unknown but pretty good.

As of lately I've started to listen quite a lot to 韩雪 who originally comes from 苏州 and funnily enough were 2 classes above my husband at school:D

But my favourite song has to be 苏州好风光 it's so beautiful, in 苏州话 and I just see the beautiful scenery of 苏州 when hearing it. And I also remember my trip to 苏州 in may-june this year. A local but nationally famous 苏州评弹 actress who were guest at our engagement dinner sang that song, acapella, and said it was for me because she wanted me to hear it. It was such an honor to hear it like that. And it makes me warm inside and gives me tears in my eyes when I hear it now. I'm actually fighting tears when writing this now... I miss 苏州 so much! And I have such beautiful memories that just grows stronger with that song.

My favourite singers: 罗嘉良、谭咏麟、张学友、孟庭苇、李克勤、李春波、宋祖英等。

My favourite are songs in late 1980s and in 1990s, both pop and folk music. Compared with the former, the latter is of more depth, more distinct for its Chinese flavors.

Yes, many of his songs are really great. I like 我等到花儿也谢了 very very much. and another song 只想一生跟你走 wonderful too!:D I have tons of his songs on my PC.

I think I have all of his songs in my QQ music playlist:D I have 我等到花儿也谢了 both in Cantonese, Mandarin and a version of the song with both Cantonese and Mandarin mixed:D

I also quite like a singer called 李娜 but her songs are pretty countryside:lol: But 青藏高原 is really really nice. I like that song a lot. And 女人是老虎 totally makes both my husband and I laugh a lot. The melody is just so funny, and when I start imitating a tiger. OMG!

I'm a big fan of

,
,
(LOVE them!!!). I'm also a huge, huge fan of
(Glorious Pharmacy).

As you can see, I'm more into underground things. Can't stand mainstream pop, especially Chinese mainstream pop. I like many other independent Chinese bands, but I admit that it's often due to the novelty factor. But the bands I listed above are amazing, and are worth listening to in any language.

When it comes to more mainstream stuff, I like

(old, but really good), and, very oddly, I like
. But she writes her own songs, so I get to keep some credibility

I've been asked this question before and never have I been able to give a straight answer. It's not that I don't have my favorites, it's just that they change all the time. Right now, for example, I'm listening to

and loving it. Its got this folksy and almost ghostly quality to it. But would I say this song is my favorite? At the moment, yes. Tomorrow though maybe a different story.

@Renzhe - there should be no stigma attached to liking mainstream music. Many of my favorite songs are considered bubblegum cantopop, but see if I care! :D So you play that Cheer Chen music loud and proud! :clap

Oh yeah, how could I forget her! I guess I have too many playlists on QQ music these days, and like all of those playlists:oops:

There are too many that I like to list here. The majority of the time I listen to Chinese pop music, I like it better ^-^

As for favorite songs... it depends on my mood, but one of my all-time favorites is 李香蘭 by Jacky Cheung. It's in Cantonese, and it's very beautiful.
