Getting an F visa in Bangkok

Hi,

I am planning to apply for F in Bangkok on a company's invitation letter, European non-UK passport.

Are there any recent experiences?

Second question, I read in another thread somebody wrote his invitation letter was kind of addressed to an authority in HK, for a Z however.

Is this the case for all the invitation letters? Is it important, i.e. if I fail to get the visa in one country do I need a different letter for doing it elsewhere?
