zhen_shuai Posted October 31, 2009 at 12:12 AM Report Posted October 31, 2009 at 12:12 AM Trailer: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/SxiCjmBFl4Q/ Movie: http://www.letv.com/ptv/vplay/317129.html This looks incredibly bad in a good way. Also, I like how they ripped off both the music from Heroes AND the cg shots of the earth. Classy. Anyone seen it? Quote

renzhe Posted October 31, 2009 at 02:58 AM Report Posted October 31, 2009 at 02:58 AM It looks like a bastard child of Miike Takashi and Austin Powers. I don't know if I'm brave enough to watch it, but I am intrigued.... Quote
Gleaves Posted October 31, 2009 at 03:02 AM Report Posted October 31, 2009 at 03:02 AM (edited) Just watched it the other day. It kept me pretty entertained. I actually enjoyed the comedic bits. It could have done without the Gundam/Voltron action scenes. I couldn't place the actress (孙俪) the whole time I watched, it really bugged me. But she is in 画皮 (Donnie Yen's sort of partner). Edit: Just watched the trailer, which tries to make it look epic or something. It's really just a romantic comedy with robot fights. Edited October 31, 2009 at 03:18 AM by Gleaves Quote
zhwj Posted October 31, 2009 at 06:22 AM Report Posted October 31, 2009 at 06:22 AM (edited) Awful movie. It had the core of an interesting story, but the film wasted its first hour doing nothing much in particular, the jumbled editing of the robot fights sucked the life out of them, and the humor was low-grade Hong Kong slapstick. To top it off, the cinematography resembled a quickie mainland TV drama - no sense of depth to the images at all. Edit: Oh, and the Mandarin sound-track features Eric Tsang dubbed by someone doing a bad Eric Tsang impression. Edited October 31, 2009 at 06:34 AM by zhwj added Eric Tsang Quote
