Outofin Posted February 11, 2010 at 03:43 AM Report Posted February 11, 2010 at 03:43 AM (edited) Trien, Trien, the best translation that sounds like trien and has certain meaning I can think of is 垂恩, which means "to fulfill (to apply or to exercise) kindness or benevolence", with some light religious color. Hey, I'm really getting good at this, am I not? No, don't take it seriously. Many won't like the name. The first rule of finding a name is not to be strange. This is not a common name. The only person who has a 恩 in his name I know is our former Prime Minister. 罗迪 is the standard translation of roddy. It's pretty much a common and nice name. Maybe too common. I think 若笛 sounds better. 可风 means "like the wind", 若笛 means "like the flute" and it sounds exactly like the English name Roddy. I really like it. Hofmann Posted February 11, 2010 at 06:16 AM Report Posted February 11, 2010 at 06:16 AM Why 展 ? Because "trien" in Quốc Ngữ sounds like 展 in Middle Chinese, 知演切. What's it supposed to be? Quote
