How can I get translation on phone?

Hi there, I really need your help. Does anybody know some translating services on phone? Or can you help me when I come aross language problems?

I am in Shanghai now, and wanna travel to other cities in the next couple of days, really need a interpreter or just help me on phone for some simple communication with the locals.

You may want to try the Shanghai Call Center number: 962288 (or 021962288 when calling in China from outside of Shanghai).

This is a 24-hour service set up by the Shanghai municipal government to assist English speakers. When you call, an English-speaking operator will try to help you with almost anything. They can help with simple translations, recommendations for things to do, touristy stuff, etc.

I've never used it but a friend swears by it to locate restaurant addresses and then to have the operator speak to his taxi driver to pass on the directions.

Hey, maybe you can try Callservice365, I've called once and the service is good. This is their website www.goawayyousillyspammers.com. They promised 24 hour services and 80 languages' services, you can call 4006444365 to ask the operator.

Oh, I can not recommend them. My foreign uncle wanted to use a service like this last month and I told him to try Callservice365. But on dialing the 4th 4, he was hit by a truck. The number is very not 吉利.
