Thanks Kenny. The suggestion 在1890年，几乎与全球第一辆汽车投放市场同时，xxx 先生创建了xx 公司 came from a Chinese colleague. If he is wrong I would like to know since my whole speech may now be littered with errors (but it is not serious. I am not striving for perfection).

And how would you translate "just as A is to B" , as in "just as a fish is to a bicycle" or "tuesday is to monday just as 2 is to 1" ?

(I came to this topic thinking this was the sentence being asked.)

The sentence is not wrong, but seems awkward.

PS: I don't know whether the text is for a speech or not. If so, the style of my suggested versions above needs to be altered.
