FujiN Posted November 21, 2009 at 06:50 PM Report Share Posted November 21, 2009 at 06:50 PM My phone has been sending me random text messages from friends for some reason, I've tried using babelfish but it translates into nothing. I want to see if anybody could make sense of it. 䤧搠汩步⁴漠瑡步潯 It's probably random chinese coding but if anybody could translate that and make sense of it I would be grateful. Thank you, Steve
chrix Posted November 22, 2009 at 03:46 PM Report Share Posted November 22, 2009 at 03:46 PM it's luanma, or what they call bakeji in Japanese, i.e. something with your encoding's gone wrong and it only shows gibberish...you should try to switch around different encoding types... I think somewhere on the internet there is also a tool that does that for you, but I don't recall where...
trien27 Posted November 22, 2009 at 06:13 PM Report Share Posted November 22, 2009 at 06:13 PM It's either Mojibake or maybe it's just random miscellaneous symbols? I've tried the whole language list in my browser and can't find a language that makes sense. chrix Posted November 22, 2009 at 06:18 PM Report Share Posted November 22, 2009 at 06:18 PM you're right, mojibake is the more common term... I remember there was a tool that would even be able to resolve cases of mojibake that you couldn't do by just changing your language encoding in your browser...
