abcdefg Posted November 21, 2009 at 08:47 PM Report Share Posted November 21, 2009 at 08:47 PM A resource I’ve been using more and more recently in studying idiomatic Chinese is Google image search. Often I’m unsure if the dictionary word really conjures up the right thing. So I type what I get from the dictionary into Google image search (using Hanzi) and see what pops up. Can do the same with Baidu. It isn’t foolproof, but it often helps. Of course everyone else may have been doing this for years.

roddy Posted November 22, 2009 at 04:41 AM Report Share Posted November 22, 2009 at 04:41 AM It can be very good for anything that's an actual object, and excellent for anything that's likely to be featured on lots of ecommerce sites.
