jobin Posted November 22, 2009 at 10:52 AM Report Posted November 22, 2009 at 10:52 AM Any knowledge of the problems associated with importing used USA text books, novels, etc into china? Such books would then be offered in china for sale. Of course i assume the govt censor needs to be involved but really how complicated is the entire affair? i have been to a bookstore on the 'tsing hua' univ campus in BJ which has many of such books. i never did ask figuring the owner may not reveal who he passed the money to> haha. any comments or ideas?? Xiwang Posted November 22, 2009 at 11:15 AM Report Posted November 22, 2009 at 11:15 AM You may want to check with Bridge to Asia, which imports donated books to Chinese universities: http://www.bridge.org/ According to its FAQ: "Does China censor books? "In our first year, we were asked to list the contents on each carton. From then until now, there have been few restrictions. Even books critical of the government are welcome, provided the level of their scholarship is high." Quote
