md1101 Posted November 24, 2009 at 01:17 AM Report Posted November 24, 2009 at 01:17 AM Hey everyone this is a question for those in the social and goss know in China at the moment. I'm going on a date with a chinese girl in the next few days and having been away from China for a couple of years I'm wondering what the latest happenings over there are now? Most popular singers, tv series etc... Ive found in the past they are really good for conversation! Is fendou still popular for example? Quote

Hedge Posted November 24, 2009 at 09:09 AM Report Posted November 24, 2009 at 09:09 AM You could mention 王菲 upcoming concert (first in a long time) and the fact that she is being payed 6.5 mill for one night, surpassing Jay Chou`s 4.5 mill (why would anyone pay him that much for one concert??). You can talk about the new chinese Mulan movie, starring Zhao Wei (who happens to be a good friend of 王菲). Thats the newest stuff I read about today. Quote
roddy Posted November 24, 2009 at 09:40 AM Report Posted November 24, 2009 at 09:40 AM Take her to a Scottish restaurant, but arrange in advance for the camp waiter to say that all the expensive dishes are off. Quote
md1101 Posted November 24, 2009 at 12:57 PM Author Report Posted November 24, 2009 at 12:57 PM cool thanks for the advice. i'll be sure to mention some of these stars names and the upcoming movies and concert. i looked up twilight on rottentomatoes.. it didn't get very good reviews and apparently its very long so id be worried to risk it. and roddy, thanks for the very random suggestion.
