date advice: Latest happenings in China lately?

Hey everyone this is a question for those in the social and goss know in China at the moment. I'm going on a date with a chinese girl in the next few days and having been away from China for a couple of years I'm wondering what the latest happenings over there are now? Most popular singers, tv series etc... Ive found in the past they are really good for conversation!

Is fendou still popular for example?

i think the most popular tv series is 宫心计 or 珠光宝气。

for date the film is good idea.

May be you can share with her the popular photos of OBAMA''s visiting China.In addition,the film"十月围城（shi yue wei cheng）"and"火星没事（huo xing mei shi）"is likely to be released.And "功夫熊猫（gong fu xiong mao）"is broadcasting.About these films ,you can talk about the film stars,such as 林志玲，李湘，李宇春，周杰伦，谢娜，and so on.

You could mention 王菲 upcoming concert (first in a long time) and the fact that she is being payed 6.5 mill for one night, surpassing Jay Chou`s 4.5 mill (why would anyone pay him that much for one concert??).

You can talk about the new chinese Mulan movie, starring Zhao Wei (who happens to be a good friend of 王菲).

i looked up twilight on rottentomatoes.. it didn't get very good reviews and apparently its very long so id be worried to risk it.

anyway the date was fun. another one lined up in the next few days. progressing from coffee to a movie. 'up' or 'new moon'... hmmmm
