bottledpoetry Posted November 25, 2009 at 07:44 AM Report Posted November 25, 2009 at 07:44 AM Hi everybody, I can't seem to find anybody who carries soju/shochu. It's a type of distilled alcohol (sort of like Vodka lite) from South Korean, made with sweet potatoes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soju I'm not sure if it's because the packaging is different in China, but I haven't found these familiar green bottles in any supermarkets here, and I've already been to Lianhua and Tesco as well as several liquor stores. Can somebody help me out? I know alot of Japanese bars do soju/shochu based drinks, but I'm looking to buy the bottled alcohol so I can make my own fruit infusions for a holiday dinner. Thanks! Quote
Rita Chen Posted November 25, 2009 at 02:23 PM Report Posted November 25, 2009 at 02:23 PM You can try to find them at 7-11 shops around you where provide many kinds of Japenese and Korean Soju. I have seen a kind of greem bottle called 真露烧酒. Another choice is you can find them at E-Mart supermarket. They have special Korean products place. http://www.e-mart.com.cn/ Hope helpful for you. clevermae Posted December 23, 2009 at 11:29 AM Report Posted December 23, 2009 at 11:29 AM Hmn... soju for fruit infusions? How do you make it? Can you share your recipe or something? And why soju? Isn't there an alternative? Quote
Artem Posted December 24, 2009 at 03:04 AM Report Posted December 24, 2009 at 03:04 AM Usually the small convenience stores called C-store stock them, especially around college campuses. Quote
