nifrances Posted December 9, 2009 at 01:05 AM Report Posted December 9, 2009 at 01:05 AM Hi! After taking a semester of Mandarin my fiancee came across a Besta cd 606 and bought it for me. Unfortunately it does not have a battery or a manual. Can anyone tell me what the battery size is? Does anyone know of a place online where I can download the manual (even if its in Chinese)? Thanks! Happy holidays!! Quote
Xiwang Posted December 9, 2009 at 10:30 AM Report Posted December 9, 2009 at 10:30 AM The Chinese and English versions of the CD-606 manuals apparently do exist but I see that the download links are not working: http://www.besta.com.tw/product/contents.asp?FileName=manual.htm&SequenceNo=224 If you can't get the manual from Besta customer service, you might try downloading a manual for a similar (but not the same) model. Here's one for the CD-636 in English: http://www.besta.com.sg/products/CD636-E.pdf I've owned a couple of Besta products. There are a lot of similarities between models in how the character recognition and dictionary features work. Quote
Bob Posted January 10, 2010 at 03:47 AM Report Posted January 10, 2010 at 03:47 AM The Besta link for the CD-606 is working fine. You can download either the English or the Chinese manual. http://www.besta.com.tw/product/contents.asp?FileName=manual.htm&SequenceNo=224 I have to use IE to get it to work. It doesn't work with my Firefox. The battery model for the CD-606 is 703-4. the spec is 3.7V/780mAh. I bought a new one from the MOY SAM corp. at besta.com. I bought it from their Los Angeles office by mail for $25. I recently got very tired of the CD-606 an bought a new Besta. The 606 does not let you expand the drawing box to one large box. It is fixed with two smaller boxes. The second gripe I have with the 606 (which I bought in 2004) is that the battery runs down in a few days of use, and the battery runs down even when the machine is turned off for a few days. I bought a gray-scale one that takes two AAA batteries, the CD-329, and I'm much happier with it. I'll try to sell my CD-606. Best, Bob. Quote
