Edenborg Posted July 14, 2010 at 08:08 AM Report Posted July 14, 2010 at 08:08 AM I wrote a message in chinese to the universitys and my first choice told me my name wasn't there so did the third choice. The second choice only replied "we also have no news" edit: i saw the names, im not on there.. Well congratulations to all of you who got it!
esz Posted July 14, 2010 at 08:25 AM Report Posted July 14, 2010 at 08:25 AM Okay, so the very moment I've sent e-mails written in shitty Chinese to the universities, the Pre-Selection list poppped up on the chinamission website. This is Murphy :DDDD But: I'm in!!!! So I hope the universities get what I've wanted and at least they tell me where I'll be going. Now I'm excited and also panicking as hell......
Leigh Posted July 14, 2010 at 08:41 AM Report Posted July 14, 2010 at 08:41 AM Never mind, the list is on. http://www.chinamission.be/eng/sthd/t716817.htm
Lantos Posted July 14, 2010 at 09:17 AM Report Posted July 14, 2010 at 09:17 AM No suprise, I am on the EU window list. Bad that lot of nice people (even from here) are not there. Last year I was rejected either, so I can understand their feelings. Be sad for a while, but bear in mind, next year will be new scholarships, and even better chances, because you will be much more experienced. Just don't give up!
shidiwen Posted July 14, 2010 at 04:27 PM Report Posted July 14, 2010 at 04:27 PM something important i was just told by the educational affairs guy in austria's chinese embassy: those 100 eu window scholarships are not all the scholarships there are. this is just one part. different countries have different additional agreements with csc and so people who r not on that list still have chances to get scholarships anyway. for austria's scholarships (off the eu list) there are still no notifications from csc beijing... so: congratulations to everyone who is on the list and good luck for everyone else who is still waiting!
Edenborg Posted July 14, 2010 at 04:42 PM Report Posted July 14, 2010 at 04:42 PM what? really.. damn I'm on my way of making other plans... I thought it was strange that there were no Swedish names at all on the list.
benhadad Posted July 14, 2010 at 08:59 PM Report Posted July 14, 2010 at 08:59 PM For those from India I found this interesting link, seems they have gone thru the trouble of outlining a bit more on how to fill out the application. Also notice the date to turn is in May 5,2010. http://education.nic.in/scho_announcements/China-proforma-2010.pdf other links http://www.education.nic.in/ http://www.scholar-guide.com/chinese-government-scholarships-for-indian-nationals-2010-2011/ Also on another note is this the same as the CSC? Qualification and notification: The BUCT will assess the application submitted by applicants and will announce the list of scholarship award winners before June 30, 2010. http://www.buct.edu.cn/english/2010%20–%202011%20BEIJING%20GOVERNMENT%20SCHOLARSHIP%20APPLICATION.htm seems like the site is suppose to have some good information, but the English links are not working correctly.
Brian US Posted July 15, 2010 at 06:13 AM Report Posted July 15, 2010 at 06:13 AM I'm still getting impatient, so any word on US scholarships? My visa is up at the end of the month, so I'll have to bite the bullet and apply next week for a new one. So much for late June early July...I'll probably get a notice in October that I should have started classes in September.
benhadad Posted July 15, 2010 at 07:24 AM Report Posted July 15, 2010 at 07:24 AM I heard a from a guy probably on this forum that said he got accepted and told by the school but hasn't heard anything from CSC and that was 2 weeks ago. I think he is American as he mentioned the American Embassy. Last year the first person posting was around according to another posting July 11, and most had found out by the 24th. Another friend also implied it might be best to check with your local PSB and see if they will just extend your current one to cover the laps (up to 30days extra). However after this you will most likely need to exit out of HK anyway for a new visa.
Xauner Posted July 15, 2010 at 10:47 AM Report Posted July 15, 2010 at 10:47 AM Now that some more got an answer, did your online application status change now that you're accepted? And congratulations to all who got it already!
Lantos Posted July 15, 2010 at 12:25 PM Report Posted July 15, 2010 at 12:25 PM Absolutely nothing. "the application form is currently checking".
jayran Posted July 15, 2010 at 01:31 PM Report Posted July 15, 2010 at 01:31 PM Hello Everyone, I have been reading this forum since last month. This is my first post.First of all, Thanks to all users. informations in this forum helped me so much. I am very nervous about CSC procedure. Because it is mid of july and we still don't know where we will go. Registration to Universities will start at the begining of September. even maybe at the end of august. Also, we have many procedures for student visa application before going to china. I pre-selected by Turkish embassy of China and I am still not sure it means that I certainly got the Scholarship. Is there anyone who elimated after pre-selection?
Sarpedon Posted July 15, 2010 at 06:51 PM Report Posted July 15, 2010 at 06:51 PM Returned home and found still no information on the US scholarships. More stress and waiting.
wstanto12 Posted July 15, 2010 at 08:10 PM Report Posted July 15, 2010 at 08:10 PM I contacted the Chinese Embassy in the US and the women told me she had just spoken to people at the CSC and they still didnt have a full list of names. She said the results should be forwarded to the embassy in the US by early next week. She also said that everyone will receive an email first to alert them of their acceptance, then get all of the paperwork later in the mail, not sure if that means everyone who applied gets an email or just those that were accepted. But it looks like all US applicants will be hearing back sometime next week! 1
eliotecb Posted July 16, 2010 at 03:40 AM Report Posted July 16, 2010 at 03:40 AM I applyed for Ph.D in the CGS but i still not recieved any admission notice yet, neither any university call me back to do an interview or gatther any information about me beyond what I sent in the application. Do i still have any chance? Those who applyed for Ph.D have been interviewed? And again Is there any other brazilian (not you sleepeye) who recieved any notice or information?News?
sleepy eyes Posted July 16, 2010 at 02:32 PM Report Posted July 16, 2010 at 02:32 PM eliote, I think it's just the two of us (which should be a good sign, hopefully there weren't hundreds of people trying for the scholarships here!), but I wouldn't be too worried, it's not mandatory that the university sends you an admission notice before the results, I think that doesn' happen the vast majority of the time. I think it just sort of happened in-beetween chongqing's way of running things and the deadlines. Plus, I'm not counting on that as a guarantee of anything, as it's not up to them to give the scholarships or not... I could be in for a huge disappointment. Don't stress yourself too much now, if the embassy sent you that reply, it's because they already know something. Now let's hope they have the results soon... I tried searching for other appliants over orkut, but things this year are really quiet. I have the feeling there were less appliants, since they have removed those scholarships for one-year of language study only.
Sarpedon Posted July 16, 2010 at 04:18 PM Report Posted July 16, 2010 at 04:18 PM Just received an email from the Education Office at the Chinese Embassy in the US.... I GOT THE SCHOLARSHIP!!! The asked me for my mailing address and will send out the acceptance package next week. However there was no mention of where I'd be going. Still, I got it!
benhadad Posted July 16, 2010 at 05:23 PM Report Posted July 16, 2010 at 05:23 PM Congratulations, so it seems that the Chinese Embassy in the US have the results?
Jonnynue Posted July 16, 2010 at 05:47 PM Report Posted July 16, 2010 at 05:47 PM I still haven't been contacted about my scholarship. Which email are they sending from so I can check my junk mail for it.
mingjiang Posted July 16, 2010 at 07:20 PM Report Posted July 16, 2010 at 07:20 PM I'm new to this forum, just discovered it a few hours ago. What a great resource! Wish I'd known about it all along. I'm an American, applied to the CGS through my university. I got an email from the Chinese Consulate on May 21st telling me that I received the scholarship but that I now needed to fill out an online form clarifying my top three university choices. Did everyone still waiting also receive this email, or is this just a quirk resulting from the fact that I applied via my university? I haven't heard a final word yet; hoping it comes in the next couple of days. I asked someone the liaison at my school to call the consulate. Anyway, I'm hoping to go to Sichuan University, Zhejiang University or ECNU in Shanghai. Currently in China doing a language program at Fudan. good luck to everyone!
