Christmas Wishes, Downtime,

First off, a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all members here on Chinese-forums.com, from myself and all admins. For those of you that don't celebrate Christmas, happy 25th of December anyway.

Second, all going according to plan sometime over the Christmas / New Year period I'll be upgrading the forums to the next major version of the software it runs on, VBulletin. It's hard to tell in advance how much disruption this will cause - it could be anything between an hour or two of not being able to post while I switch things over, or who knows how long if I hit unexpected problems (Ho Ho Ho, is Santa going to bring me some database encoding issues for Christmas ). Once that's done there'll be a bit of a running in period while you all find things that need fixed for me, and then we'll be set for a stellar 2010.

Third, thanks as always to everyone contributing to the forums, whether you're answering questions, asking them, advertising here or helping run the place.

Fourth, I've spontaneously decided to hold a Christmas avatar competition. So far I'm the only entrant - if anyone else can do better there may be a prize

Just noticing for the first time. That is actually the reflection of the camera flash, which by sheer fluke, just happened to catch the blade in that position
