sorry I didn't read the whole thread carefully.

I don't think skylee is the only one who misread the 得 in my sentence, but I did do my best to post the caution at every opportunity I could:

The 得 in this sentence should read "dei3" and mean "should".

But your suggested sentence is another vesion, which is not the same as the one I suggested. So your 得 is not the same one as in my sentence.

it should be fine in the right context (and for it to be ok, 得 here is intended as "dei3").

It wasn't even a sentence I would have written myself. I was only trying to guess a correct sentence from the wrong one that was given. And as I said at the beginning, I tried to keep as close to the original form of the given sentence as possible.
