Don_Horhe Posted December 30, 2009 at 05:20 PM Report Posted December 30, 2009 at 05:20 PM I'm thinking of getting the HSK汉语8000词词典 and 汉语口语常用格式例释, both from BLCUP, which, I think, more or less guarantees quality. I read about the 8000-word dictionary on the forums and it was generally given good reviews, but now with the possibility of implementing the new test, maybe revising the word lists and everything, do you think I should still get it? If anyone has the second book, please tell me how you find it. Thanks. Quote
kdavid Posted December 30, 2009 at 11:07 PM Report Posted December 30, 2009 at 11:07 PM I've got the HSK汉语8000词词典. It's a good dictionary, but that's it. You can find vocabulary lists online for free that have all of the same vocabulary in this dictionary on the list. Quote
Daan Posted December 31, 2009 at 01:26 AM Report Posted December 31, 2009 at 01:26 AM I have the same dictionary and am especially fond of the many example sentences and collocations listed for each word. Even if the HSK will be changing in the future, those alone make it worth the money for me. In the end, the most frequent words will have to be included anyway - it's not as if the HSK can decide that Mandarin suddenly has to adopt thousands of new words. Quote
