Hofmann Posted January 4, 2010 at 04:49 AM Report Posted January 4, 2010 at 04:49 AM I wonder why linking to externally hosted images shows a link. Quote
Outofin Posted January 4, 2010 at 05:48 AM Report Posted January 4, 2010 at 05:48 AM Sort of a policy. May be out of aesthetic or speed consideration. Or, some consider that as an internet etiquette, because showing pictures here still consumes the bandwidth of the source website. But most websites welcome external links. Some even encourage that. Maybe it's good for their statistics. If they don't like it, they can alway block external picture links from their end. Quote

Hofmann Posted January 6, 2010 at 04:33 AM Author Report Posted January 6, 2010 at 04:33 AM Using external hosts isn't bad. Using them when they don't want you to use them is bad. I think most externally hosted images here are hosted on image hosts, right? Quote
