zhouhaochen Posted January 6, 2010 at 06:31 AM Report Posted January 6, 2010 at 06:31 AM so there is no Hubei or Wuhan area here, but anyone from there on chinese forums? I am here for two days, any ideas on bars etc. ? Anybody wants to get a beer in the evening? Its amazing how warm -2C feels after the weather we had in Beijing for the last week... Quote
zhouhaochen Posted January 7, 2010 at 04:33 PM Author Report Posted January 7, 2010 at 04:33 PM alright, leaving Wuhan tomorrow, so for the next visitor, my experiences: VOX bar, students, cheap (10RMB/vodka), pool, table football, live bands (didnt have one on when I was there though) 鲁磨路118号 - 027-62872195 God's Music Bar, a former church turned into a Chinese Disco. Definitely a unique design approach. A church outside, a Chinese Disco Inside. Has a stage for bands as well, a bit loud, but overall I found it quite nice. Slightly pricier though (30RMB/vodka) 神曲酒吧 25 Chezhan Road, Hankou 汉口车站路25号江汉饭店附近 Tel/电话: 027-8284 2865 and a picture as well: http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/world/photo/2006/10/25/2005060421 Quote
anonymoose Posted January 7, 2010 at 04:37 PM Report Posted January 7, 2010 at 04:37 PM But not everyone heading to Wuhan has the bar as their priority destination. Didn't you go to 黄鹤楼? Quote
zhouhaochen Posted January 8, 2010 at 12:34 AM Author Report Posted January 8, 2010 at 12:34 AM I was working during the day, so Huanghelou was not that high on the agenda. But thinking about it, I guess I could have still gone in the evening... Where is it? I go on my next trip. Quote
Shadowdh Posted January 8, 2010 at 12:55 AM Report Posted January 8, 2010 at 12:55 AM its near one of the bridges crossing the river... Vox is awesome, at least it was when I was there... Huang he lou is also pretty darn good... I loved Wuhan... great place to study and go out in... wish I was back there... Quote
Don_Horhe Posted January 8, 2010 at 04:10 AM Report Posted January 8, 2010 at 04:10 AM Huang He Lou closes at 17:30 during the winter months, though, that's why I didn't bring it up. Quote
honzan Posted March 14, 2010 at 03:02 PM Report Posted March 14, 2010 at 03:02 PM wuhan huanying ni!!! Now there is even more to do in WUhan! most of the students were in wuchang, where, as for clubs, there was nothing but vox and lately DF, then chinese clubs which were sometimes kinda funny haha. Now there seems to be many more....there is tons of stuff in hankou which is pretty cool but its too far to go often when u live in wuchang Quote
Don_Horhe Posted March 22, 2010 at 01:55 PM Report Posted March 22, 2010 at 01:55 PM I had an amazing St. Patrick's Day in Wuhan's only Irish bar - The Toucan - last week. If you ever found yourself in Wuhan longing for a pint of Guinness and some meat pies, definitely check it out - it is located on the ground floor of the Wuhan Riverside Holiday Inn Hotel, No. 88 Xi Ma Chang street, Hanyang, Wuhan. Here's the address in Chinese: 武汉晴川假日酒店, 88 洗马场街, 汉阳区, 武汉. It's authentically furnished, giving it a unique feel and atmosphere. Quote
