Ren_st Posted January 7, 2010 at 06:17 PM Report Posted January 7, 2010 at 06:17 PM Has anybody here have experience working (possibly full time) and studying chinese at a university? Are there any universities in Shanghai that offer night time language courses? I want to study a year of Chinese in Shanghai under the CSC scholarship but also work a internship/full time position if I can find one. How feasible is this? Thanks all ! Quote
Gibbs Posted January 8, 2010 at 11:12 PM Report Posted January 8, 2010 at 11:12 PM If you are studying on CSC scholarship you will have a student visa. You cannot (legally) work on a student visa. I'm sure you know the scholarship includes a minor monthly stipend. Use your time to study, there is always time to work later in life. Quote
flyingdream Posted January 9, 2010 at 08:32 AM Report Posted January 9, 2010 at 08:32 AM Can you at least work part-time on a CSC scholarship? Quote
Gibbs Posted January 9, 2010 at 09:12 PM Report Posted January 9, 2010 at 09:12 PM you cannot legally work part-time or full-time while on a CSC scholarship because your entry/stay in China will be on a student visa. If the government gives you a student visa, they expect you to study. On this site, there is a huge section on visas. I suggest you read some of the previous posts. Quote
