Question about the use of 将

I came across this sentence lately:

他将自己更好地融入新球队.

I cant really tell how 将 is used here. I would have use 使or 让 so that it means ·"He made himself"...I did not know that 将 could have the same meaning. I just know it as a future marker.

Think of it as a formal 把, as in a “把”字句.

將 is a more formal use of 把

here, 將/把 or 使/讓 are meaning the same
