SirDude Posted February 3, 2010 at 06:22 AM Report Posted February 3, 2010 at 06:22 AM ****** NOTE: I am NOT in ANY way, stated or implied, backing this company, I am ONLY passing along a job listening I found on Craigslist in China, thank you *********** I know there's a group of Expats on here that do freelance writing, so I thought I would pass this info on. A web site called www.eChinaCities.com had an add on Craigslist looking for expat writers. You are on your own to get all the information about the job. If anyone has anything bad to say about this company, web site, or job, please share. Best of luck! SirDude Quote
roddy Posted February 3, 2010 at 06:42 AM Report Posted February 3, 2010 at 06:42 AM They advertise quite often, seen them in a few places. One of those cases where you think they're either expanding rapidly, or have very high turnover . . . We must have someone on here who's at least applied for one of their jobs though. Speak up! Quote
Erbse Posted February 3, 2010 at 12:04 PM Report Posted February 3, 2010 at 12:04 PM They once took one of my articles of my blog without asking for permission and posted it at echinacities "for testing purposes" and then they concluded my articles are okay. They contacted me after their testing and asked me, if they could buy more of my articles for rip off prices. Denied their offer. Quote
roddy Posted February 3, 2010 at 01:14 PM Report Posted February 3, 2010 at 01:14 PM Have you got any idea who's behind the site? I've seen reference to them being foreign run, and at times they seem to have had a pretty big Adwords spend. I'd say they're slightly more credible that your average 'foreigners in China' site. Erbse Posted February 3, 2010 at 05:07 PM Report Posted February 3, 2010 at 05:07 PM I was contacted by some guy with a Chinese name, a Chinese Telephone number and in the address it said something about Beijing. Quote
SirDude Posted February 4, 2010 at 01:23 AM Author Report Posted February 4, 2010 at 01:23 AM I'm glad to see someone have some kind of insight into this company. Too bad that it doesn't sound like they are the right company to work for though. As I've mentioned in other treads, I'm working on returning to college and was thinking about getting into Freelance (Blog) writing. That sounded like the kind of part-time job I could use. OH well, I wasn't in China yet anyway, so I couldn't have taken that jobs anyhow. Quote
Erbse Posted February 4, 2010 at 08:13 AM Report Posted February 4, 2010 at 08:13 AM Things might have changed by now. My experience is about 2 years old. Quote
