Harvey Posted February 3, 2010 at 02:08 PM Report Share Posted February 3, 2010 at 02:08 PM Hello, Does anyone know of a free, open source, use for whatever you want, creative commons sort of stockpile of Chinese Audio files? Looking for a ton of audio files of common vocabulary words that I can listen to and possibly use in a pet project I'm working on. A sort of flashcard game thing. Any help appreciated! BrandeX Posted February 3, 2010 at 02:23 PM Report Share Posted February 3, 2010 at 02:23 PM FSI should be usable for that
jbradfor Posted February 3, 2010 at 04:02 PM Report Share Posted February 3, 2010 at 04:02 PM @BrandeX, I assume that the FSI are full sentences? Then the OP will need to take each sentence and break it into words for what I assume the purpose is. This sounds like a lot of work. @Harvey, I've been thinking of something like this, but focusing only on numbers. It still embarrasses me to the point that I will never admit it in public, but I still don't "understand" numbers spoken in Chinese, I need to translate into English. I want to be able to think in Chinese numbers. What I think would help me do that is just a drill program that says a (random) number in Chinese, and I need to type it in. I think with a lot of reps I could learn to do that without translating it. Maybe as a start you could focus on that? Please?
alex Posted February 5, 2010 at 01:58 PM Report Share Posted February 5, 2010 at 01:58 PM This is a great collection that I've had bookmarked for a while. I personally do not use it because I have Pleco which I paid for, but it looks pretty good. It is licensed Creative Commons. http://swac-collections.org/index.php (to explore with their interface) http://swac-collections.org/download.php (download) Edit: repeated sentences
