Order stuff online to China: customs, taxes?

Hi,

I just ordered some pills & vitamins from an online shop in the US to China, Beijing where I'm spending my holiday. What kind of customs and taxes do I have to pay in China for products ordered abroad?

I had a friend from the U.S.A that got a laptop computer sent over to him. The customs/whoever guys tried to make him pay some ridiculous amount that was almost equal to the value of the computer. He managed to talk his way out of it (guess you really can bargain on anything here) Don't think you'd have the same problem with vitamins etc.
