ironbadger Posted August 23, 2004 at 04:55 PM Report Posted August 23, 2004 at 04:55 PM I've read that the cinematic release of films is carefully monitored in China. I'm a great fan of world cinema in general and was wondering just how many films are released in the cinema each year. Are Chinese and Asian films in general less subject to censorship and banning or are the same guidlines applied to film from all areas? American, European etc. - What type of films could you expect to see released? Are certain genres or plot themes treated favourably? Quote
Guest Yau Posted August 23, 2004 at 09:13 PM Report Posted August 23, 2004 at 09:13 PM there's a trading limit on films in china. For hollywood films, only around 10 (???not sure) films are allowed to show up in a theater. The wide choices of pirated movies are another story. From india to france, all these films are avaliable on the apparently illegal market. Quote
