What is bèi?

All the characters with pinyin bei4: http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php?page=worddict&wdrst=1&wdqb=p%3Abei4 . I'm not exactly sure to which character you are referring, but I'm guessing here you want 被. It doesn't really mean blame, but rather marks the recipient of an action.

Similarly all the characters with pinyin jian: http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php?page=worddict&wdrst=1&wdqb=p%3Ajian [you didn't include the tone, so there are a lot more.] I'm even less certain on this one, but perhaps you mean 件?

Example sentences would help.

The above is assuming that you provided the correct pinyin, not a rough English transliteration. If it's a transliteration, then maybe for "jian" you want 這樣?

Just guessing here....

被 and 这样 must be the words I was looking for.

I thought 被 meant blame because everytime I hear it, something unfortunate or nasty had happened. A typical example is 一杯水被他打翻。

And I often hear it with the noun or pronoun missing: 一杯水被打翻了。

Probably 这样 spoken quickly sounds like JIAN, which was why I was searching for JIAN.

Thanks.
