Jovey Posted February 12, 2010 at 02:36 AM Report Posted February 12, 2010 at 02:36 AM Hello, Can anyone tell me can a letter be sent to a City in China, marked "General Delivery' ? Quote
roddy Posted February 12, 2010 at 02:41 AM Report Posted February 12, 2010 at 02:41 AM Yes, but you might want to mark it Poste Restante, which is the term most of the world uses. Personally wouldn't rely on it for anything important though. What are you actually sending, and to where? Quote
hanxue Posted February 12, 2010 at 01:19 PM Report Posted February 12, 2010 at 01:19 PM Let me borrow this thread real quick: what is the cheapest way of sending packages overseas? (timeframe is not important here). Is it 海运? Quote
Daan Posted February 13, 2010 at 04:11 AM Report Posted February 13, 2010 at 04:11 AM Outbound from mainland China? Sea mail, yes. Jovey, as roddy points out, mark them "poste restante" as that is the internationally used term. And include 留局待领 while you're at it. You'll generally have to pick up your poste restante letter at the general post office with a valid ID whose name matches the recipient's. At least, that's how most postal services work. Quote
