abcdefg Posted February 15, 2010 at 02:08 AM Report Posted February 15, 2010 at 02:08 AM A friend who knows I'm studying Chinese sent me this photo of the inscription on a Buddhist scroll which depicts Bodhidharma. It is supposed to have been painted in China about 1950. He asked if I could verify that it is actually in Chinese. I'm pretty useless with cursive writing so I thought I'd ask this forum. Is it indeed Chinese, and if so, what does it say? Quote

creamyhorror Posted February 15, 2010 at 05:19 PM Report Posted February 15, 2010 at 05:19 PM Looks right to me - 一苇渡江. Crossing the river on a single reed, which is what Bodhidharma is said to have done. Quote
