PhilipLean Posted April 13, 2010 at 12:00 PM Report Share Posted April 13, 2010 at 12:00 PM I use the international version of QQ, from imqq.com it is far superior to the QQ alternatives, it has some popups but I have never had a problem with spyware - I run various checks regularly. One nice feature of QQ is the screen capture or partial screen capture and the ability to annotate the screen capture I really like the ability to exchange short voice messages with people who are using QQ mobile. zhouhaochen Posted May 27, 2012 at 06:17 AM Report Share Posted May 27, 2012 at 06:17 AM For a while when I was running QQ international my VPN didnt connect properly. I had to close QQ, connect and then re-open. Not a problem now anymore. I am pretty sure there is loads of stuff on there
malanting Posted May 30, 2012 at 11:58 AM Report Share Posted May 30, 2012 at 11:58 AM I don't think so. Almost every Chinese who does Internet chatting use QQ. They just can't spy on so many people without being caught.
yaokong Posted May 30, 2012 at 03:53 PM Report Share Posted May 30, 2012 at 03:53 PM Run QQ on an iOS device, should not have to worry about safety issues there, at least not half as much as using Windows.
tooironic Posted May 30, 2012 at 10:47 PM Author Report Share Posted May 30, 2012 at 10:47 PM Indeed. I've discovered QQ on Mac OSX highly functional and seemingly spywareless.
mirgcire Posted July 22, 2012 at 05:05 PM Report Share Posted July 22, 2012 at 05:05 PM Does anyone have any idea about the android app? Android seems to have a security model that is just begging for spyware.
Erbse Posted August 4, 2012 at 12:41 PM Report Share Posted August 4, 2012 at 12:41 PM >> So to settle the question once and for all: does Tencent QQ have spyware? That's the problem with software: it can change. What is true about one piece of software today can be totally different with the next version.
