Kai13 Posted February 17, 2010 at 06:07 PM Report Posted February 17, 2010 at 06:07 PM 我写了三封信。写完了就看了一会儿电视,听了一会儿音乐。 Hey there. I understand what the sentence means, but if I were to say such thing I would say it like that I believe, the word order in here drives me nuts. I wrote 3 letters. After finishing writing them I saw TV for a bit, listened to music a bit. Is there anyway for me to understand this better? Thanks. Quote
yonglin Posted February 17, 2010 at 07:14 PM Report Posted February 17, 2010 at 07:14 PM I'm sure replies will be more helpful if you can let us know why you find the word order so confusing, or how you would rather like to say it. Quote
Kenny同志 Posted February 18, 2010 at 12:40 PM Report Posted February 18, 2010 at 12:40 PM It may be clearer this way. 我写完三封信,看了一会儿电视,之后又听了一会儿音乐。 Quote

It's certainly possible, but then you'd miss out part of the message and the sentence may sound a bit incomplete: Your sentence: 看了一会儿电视,听了一会儿音乐。 The original: 写完了(信) 就 看了一会儿电视,听了一会儿音乐。 (The extra bit in the original gives the time frame for the actions.)
