Bahar Posted August 26, 2004 at 11:06 AM Report Posted August 26, 2004 at 11:06 AM Would anybody help me to translate these phrases: - 有风度无境界 - 有教养无底蕴 I've tried hard to find in kind of dictionaries but they don't give any precise explanation. thanks Quote
skylee Posted August 26, 2004 at 12:59 PM Report Posted August 26, 2004 at 12:59 PM 我來試試 - 有教養無底蘊 - well bred but shallow Quote
Bob Dylan Thomas Posted August 27, 2004 at 02:16 AM Report Posted August 27, 2004 at 02:16 AM - 有风度无境界 What about: have extremely elegant and refined manners? (i've interpreted 无境界 as "boundless", hence "extremely", though that's kind of a guess, 'pologies if it's wrong) Quote
Bahar Posted August 28, 2004 at 04:58 AM Author Report Posted August 28, 2004 at 04:58 AM Sky, I got it. Thanks. But how about 有风度无境界 ? It seemed imprecise from Bob. (but anyway thanks a lot, Bob) Anyone else could help? Quote

Guest Yau Posted September 5, 2004 at 01:09 PM Report Posted September 5, 2004 at 01:09 PM - 有风度无境界 What about: have extremely elegant and refined manners? (i've interpreted 无境界 as "boundless", hence "extremely", though that's kind of a guess, 'pologies if it's wrong) Good try. 有風度無境界 means "有風度 but 無境界" and here, 無境界 means having no high depth (=shallow). The possible translation for "boundless" is 無界限 or 無邊無際. Quote
