crisgee Posted April 29, 2017 at 08:23 AM Report Share Posted April 29, 2017 at 08:23 AM @hoshinoumi Fantastic work! Kudos! Especially delighted at the part on "Status updates" and "Possible problems...". You don;t know HOW MANY applicants I've had to remind not to leave blanks and not to send screenshots of online HSK/HSKK results. Thank you! Linking again and putting it on my sig: Hoshinoumi's EXPERT GUIDE TO APPLYING FOR THE CI SCHOLARSHIP This should be required reading before posting on this page!
方茹婷 Posted April 29, 2017 at 09:10 AM Report Share Posted April 29, 2017 at 09:10 AM @crisgee First, I would like to apply for the one-year and then for the MTCSOL. So now I should choose the major "Chinese Language and Literature" or the "TCSOL" ? That's what that is not clear for me now...I'll definitely continue to learn MTCSOL but firstly I need to get HSK 5, because I now have HSK 3 only. So I'd use this one-year to improve my Chinese. igacave Posted April 29, 2017 at 09:44 AM Report Share Posted April 29, 2017 at 09:44 AM @方茹婷 Check if you can apply. Once I did not win THIS scholarship cause I am from EU country, and 1 year + MTCSOL was only dedicated to students from South Asia and Africa. 方茹婷 Posted April 29, 2017 at 01:27 PM Report Share Posted April 29, 2017 at 01:27 PM @igacave Yeah, but this year it's different. There is no such category anymore...
方茹婷 Posted April 30, 2017 at 08:26 AM Report Share Posted April 30, 2017 at 08:26 AM Okay I'm getting really furious about this...Does anyone know why I can't upload my recommendation letter? It says with red: 创建文件目录没有成功! I could upload all the other files, but not this one. I checked everything, the file is not too big and the format is okay too. Jellyfish Posted April 30, 2017 at 09:24 AM Report Share Posted April 30, 2017 at 09:24 AM @方茹婷 have you tried changing the file name? May sound weird but I for ages couldn't enter and save my Study Plan because it contained a character (I believe it was < or something like that) that the system didn't like. A long shot maybe but if file size and type are ok then I don't know what else might be the issue.
方茹婷 Posted April 30, 2017 at 09:25 AM Report Share Posted April 30, 2017 at 09:25 AM @Jellyfish There is no such character in it, only Chinese characters...
Jellyfish Posted April 30, 2017 at 09:31 AM Report Share Posted April 30, 2017 at 09:31 AM Are your other file names in chinese characters too? If not then it might be worth just trying to rename it. If you've tried changing everything else then that's my best idea. :/ If it helps, mine was uploaded as a PDF and named Recommendation170420. File size was 1.58MB. That all worked fine. I hope you get it sorted!
方茹婷 Posted April 30, 2017 at 09:36 AM Report Share Posted April 30, 2017 at 09:36 AM @Jellyfish Anyways, I saw your problem, I also have problems only on the last page of the application form...That's where the recommendation letter is and the signature, which I uploaded but it doesn't appear...Btw you have to upload YOUR signature, not the referee's.
方茹婷 Posted April 30, 2017 at 09:39 AM Report Share Posted April 30, 2017 at 09:39 AM @Jellyfish I renamed it, tried to upload and nothing is happening, still the red thing appears. My teacher told me to wait, maybe the system has a problem. I tried really everything I can do and nothing.
Jellyfish Posted April 30, 2017 at 09:48 AM Report Share Posted April 30, 2017 at 09:48 AM @方茹婷 Yeah I figured it all out in the end - for a while I thought the issue with my last page was that I had to somehow upload two signatures and that it wasn't saving my last page because I was only uploading my own signature, not my referee's, but in the end it turned out that the issue was with my application statement, as I described earlier. It's so frustrating that with the application system, if one field is left blank or not working for some reason, everything else gets deleted too! By the end of it I could complete that last page with my eyes closed haha. Just stay calm and keep trying, if my silly story teaches us anything then that it does work out in the end. Also try changing other sections of your application (or of that last page at least) - for me, the problem turned out to be not related to the signature at all (even though that was the field that always played up when I tried to complete it), so maybe that's the same for you?
Geo_chan Posted April 30, 2017 at 10:40 PM Report Share Posted April 30, 2017 at 10:40 PM Hi there! I'm surprised that I didn't find this CIS forum thread earlier, it would have been reassuring to have read this thread when filling out the application form. Anyway, I've applied for the one year academic study at Fudan University beginning in September 2017. And I've gotten to the pre-admission and their comment was "符合预录取条件,建议录取。" Which means that if I meet their requirements, they propose to pre-admit me, right? I was wondering if anyone knows when they will finally confirm whether or not you've been admitted? Many thanks, and good luck to everyone who has applied for the scholarship! Jellyfish Posted May 2, 2017 at 07:04 AM Report Share Posted May 2, 2017 at 07:04 AM Hi @geo_chan, welcome! And also, I've also applied for the one year scholarship at Fudan and they agreed to accept me. I'm now also waiting for Hanban's decision. Hopefully we'll be classmates next year! If you've got questions about status updates and so on, I recommend: Hoshinoumi's EXPERT GUIDE TO APPLYING FOR THE CI SCHOLARSHIP https://unaestrellademaraventurera.wordpress.com/2017/04/26/cis-application-process/ If you haven't read this already, get on it now. I wish I'd known all this before I applied (now it's just a case of hoping for the best with what I did before I read this guide). My institute and Fudan accepted and recommended me, now I just hope I fulfil Hanban's criteria. Unfortunately I have no idea about the time frame so I guess we can both just wait, hope and keep each other updated

geogeo Posted May 2, 2017 at 09:52 AM Report Share Posted May 2, 2017 at 09:52 AM Hi guys I've already been successful with scholarships in the past and am not currently persuing any more. However, a family member is and they only hold HSK3 certification (no HSKK certificate). Is it possible to apply/be successful without the HSKK qualification? Many thanks
