I got the message from my host university. I have a question: they told me i need to apply for ''X visa'', which is only for 3 months and one single entry, then when i am in china i will regulate my position. I need to come back to my country 3 weeks after my arrival in beijing ( because of graduation day). does anybody know if i will be able to get a ''permit of stay'' for one year on time so that i can easily go and come back at the end of the first month?

@ Madayou; For Thailand, the chinese visa has many types; one of its is "you can go to china and come back to your country twice a year" (i dont know how it called in english) and another type is "multiple-visa" ( you can go to china and come back to your country many time per year).

I think you should tell your situation and consult with the university's personnel that email to you, may be they can give you the letter for asking for the chinese visa that you can come to china twice a year.

@Loren; I got an email but they say that they will send the documents to me later. By the way, the dateline for sending the letter from the university is 10th July, dont worried :) I think you will get it soon.

Congratulations to everyone who made it!

E-mailed my host uni yesterday and they said they would send me the admission package in the middle of July. Anyone here who`s going to Qingdao, please do let me know!

@Loki, when you got the email from your university, in the email address, does it also show others people's email that they also get the scholarship?

If yes, copy their email on the "search" on the facebook. So, you will have friends who will go to Qingdao.

I find the friend who will go to Heilongjiang University also and I get some friends already.

@Fangau: I mailed them first, so it was only a private conversation. Renren is like Chinese Facebook and as far as I know, the most popular social network over there. Check it out: www.renren.com

@Madayou: Which university did you end up getting into? BLCU was my first choice too but I haven't heard anything back except for the updated 授予奖学金 status on the cis website.

Just wondering, is there anyone else who has got the admitted status but hasn't received an email from their university yet?

Insighter, I was admitted to BLCU but i know it because i sent an e-mail to hanban support and ask them the name of my university.

I am pretty sure we have to wait until 10th july to get the famous invitation letter :)

Thanks, did you write to them in English, Chinese, or both? It's a silly question, but I'm never sure if I'm being presumptuous one way or another when writing to Chinese organizations that deal with foreigners.

@insighter

I'm still waiting for en email too! I was admitted to SISU. Maybe in the universities with a lot of foreigners the processing time is longer... It would make sense!

I found out the system to know which university accepted me btw... After logged on the CIS account, we should click on "register"!

Lorenz; "奖学金留学生须履行注册报到手续。接收院校依据孔子学院奖学金授予名单,核对新生和在校生人数,填写、提交注册报到表,申请拨付资助经费。" Does it means that we have to register when we reach the university? Am I understand correctly?

@ fangau

yes, just like any other foreign exchange or study abroad student, when you get to the university you need to register. However, those who received this scholarship might have a few more forms to fill out.

And every university has its own start date, so wait till they send you your packet with your jw202 form. All the information should be in there.
