Just received a respond by Hanban that confirmed me this! I will call CI in about 2h and I will try find out what's wrong! I am a bit frustrated but what should I do
Guest kivanoa Posted June 23, 2015 at 05:47 AM Report Posted June 23, 2015 at 05:47 AM Mims if your talk to to your head of CI will write to hanban some letter about this problem maybe they'll try to do smth because i know the guy that was rejected after his head of CI talked to hanban and university eventually they find out some options. My CI do nothing for me so if u want a scholarship just keep trying anyway you ll know that u did your best !

I just contacted them both, my recommending institute said as far as they know they don't receive anything else regarding the scholarship and it should be the university (who haven't replied yet) who get in touch. Is this right? I'm sure I heard that the admission letter etc were sent via the recommending institution?

hbwoodburn Posted June 25, 2015 at 05:51 PM Report Posted June 25, 2015 at 05:51 PM So, I had posted a week ago about my status having issues. 申请进度：“推荐机构择优确认中” I emailed the Hanban email (support service email on the app login screen), and they told me my status; turns out my CI forgot to get everything to Hanban last month. My CI was very embarrassed, promptly processed my stuff online (after which my status turned to 申请进度：已确认), and then about a week later I was accepted by my university. SO for anyone with issues, make sure to email everybody and keep trying; there is still time to get the scholarship if you make the right calls. Good luck!!

Are we supposed to contact wangxiaoxu@hanban.org or do we just have to wait for our university to contact us?

GotJack Posted July 2, 2015 at 03:00 PM Report Posted July 2, 2015 at 03:00 PM So my scholarship status is currently : 申请进度：“推荐机构择优确认中”接收院校：浙江大学 I emailed my CI to tell them this and they said: I cant see your status from our side, it's a bit difficult for us as from the point when we recommend you the universities in China just usually directly contact you and we often don't even find out who has got the scholarship or not. Do you want to try and contact the university yourself and find out that way? So i emailed Hanban and they said: 您好。 “推荐机构择优确认中”是指您的推荐机构没有审核通过您的材料，请尽快与推荐机构联系，确定是否是申请材料有误，谢谢。 I'm wondering what people advise my next step should be? I'm thinking of contacting my two preferred universities directly? Although from what Hanban seem to be saying, it is an issue with the Confucius Institute that recommended me. Does anyone have any advice?

I would get on your CI about it again, and forward that Hanban email to them, too. Good luck!

I contacted Hanban by writing an email in Chinese (they don't reply emails in English). When I received their answer, I sent them to my CI and they finally understood how to submit our applications... Now I'm accepted to Yunnan Normal University in Kunming, my 2nd choice
