Kenny同志 Posted February 21, 2010 at 11:55 AM Report Share Posted February 21, 2010 at 11:55 AM 请教同志们 What is the Chinese name of petits canapés ?
skylee Posted February 21, 2010 at 12:04 PM Report Share Posted February 21, 2010 at 12:04 PM Looks like tapas/pintxos to me. Perhaps you could consider 小點心 or 餐前小食/小吃 or 開胃菜 or 下酒菜. Since it is french, perhaps you could also add 法式 in front.
anonymoose Posted February 21, 2010 at 12:05 PM Report Share Posted February 21, 2010 at 12:05 PM I know it's not an exact translation, but I think 点心 is a reasonable description.

trien27 Posted March 7, 2010 at 04:59 AM Report Share Posted March 7, 2010 at 04:59 AM (edited) Literally means "small sofas/couches"? (petits) canapés = 下酒小菜* Canape = 卡纳普 [name] = 下酒小菜 [food]( = petits canapés? 小 = "small" in Chinese which is the exact translation of "petit/petits" or "petite/petites" in French) Maybe 下酒小菜 could = petits canapés as a whole. 下酒小菜 = 下酒时吃的小菜 = appetizers? *Source: http://www.myqcqc.com/archiver/?tid-2222-page-2.html Edited March 7, 2010 at 05:05 PM by trien27

Shi Tong Posted March 8, 2010 at 10:30 AM Report Share Posted March 8, 2010 at 10:30 AM I would say that the closest thing to petit canepes is dian xin, which is probably the eastern equivalent of the french thing- which is usually small items of food-- finger food in English I suppose. 下酒小菜 describes items of food which help you drink. This would include nuts and bar snacks.. I would probably go with 法式小點心 as Skylee sugested, if I were you!
