Prodigal Son Posted February 27, 2010 at 07:20 AM Report Posted February 27, 2010 at 07:20 AM Where's the best place to get one? Can anyone recommend a place? Quote
roddy Posted February 28, 2010 at 09:49 AM Report Posted February 28, 2010 at 09:49 AM Last I looked you needed a HK ID card if you wanted anything without a 30 day stay restriction. The days of the easy HK F visa are over - although I'd like to be the first to know if they come back. Quote
Prodigal Son Posted February 28, 2010 at 10:03 AM Author Report Posted February 28, 2010 at 10:03 AM That's what I had feared - thanks for confirming my suspicion though, Roddy. I'm headed for HK in a few days and figured it was worth inquiring. Thanks Quote
adrianlondon Posted February 28, 2010 at 11:37 AM Report Posted February 28, 2010 at 11:37 AM Go to Forever Bright. Probably named after their awful website ... http://www.fbt-chinavisa.com.hk/ I went there, UK passport, last November and got an L visa valid for 90 days. OK, they're all valid for 90 days but until that visa they all had "duration of stay: 30 days" on them; this one didn't. So, single entry 90 day stay. Quote
roddy Posted February 28, 2010 at 11:54 AM Report Posted February 28, 2010 at 11:54 AM That's fairly decent. If you can get that I wouldn't be surprised if they'll give you 2 90-day stays. Although if you plan to ultimately change to an F visa within China, that'll likely be more expensive going L>F than F>F. Quote
adrianlondon Posted February 28, 2010 at 12:35 PM Report Posted February 28, 2010 at 12:35 PM I actually felt bad for "wasting" it as I only stayed in China for 6 days. Quote
onebir Posted March 23, 2010 at 10:17 AM Report Posted March 23, 2010 at 10:17 AM The days of the easy HK F visa are over - although I'd like to be the first to know if they come back. Someone I know, who's familiar with the various classes of Chinese, told me he was offered a 6m F in HK by one of the usual suspects about six weeks ago. He just wanted an L - so he didn't ask about the price. Availability of the F's wasn't mentioned on their website & he thinks phoning rather than emailing agents may get a more accurate picture of what's available. Perhaps if anyone gets some good news they could start a separate thread entitled "Really useful visa agents in HK". Quote
