driftman Posted March 2, 2010 at 12:15 AM Report Posted March 2, 2010 at 12:15 AM well, it was an amazing firework for CNY again. And all the stuff we bought was as usual really cheap. Actually, compared to home, really really cheap. So, I was thinking is there any way of sending any of that fireworks stuff home? I am sure they wont let you take it with you on the plane. The normal post probably wont send them either. Any ideas besides taking the Trans-Siberian? Quote
Lu Posted March 2, 2010 at 10:14 AM Report Posted March 2, 2010 at 10:14 AM Not sure where your home is, but in my home country (the Netherlands) importing fireworks like that is illegal, period. No matter if it's from China or simply from Belgium. That being said, are there rules that say you can't take it in your check-in luggage? If not, that would be your best bet, I think. Quote
889 Posted March 2, 2010 at 10:53 AM Report Posted March 2, 2010 at 10:53 AM Fireworks are regarded as Dangerous Goods and you cannot transport them by air, either as carry on or in checked luggage. Quote
Erbse Posted March 2, 2010 at 05:35 PM Report Posted March 2, 2010 at 05:35 PM if you are from a first world country then the local Chinese fireworks won't meet your homecountry's safety regulations and there are illegal to posses, use, .... Apart from that it's a dangerous good and I'm sure you must get a concession first to import. Quote
Daan Posted March 3, 2010 at 02:38 AM Report Posted March 3, 2010 at 02:38 AM And please don't consider sending them by mail or transporting them by air anyway. You don't want to carry the responsibility for your package exploding in transit. This has happened in the past. Quote
yonitabonita Posted March 3, 2010 at 08:37 AM Report Posted March 3, 2010 at 08:37 AM Fireworks are flammable, and explosive. Save yourself the hassle. Have fun in China, and leave it at that. You could get yourself into quite a bit of trouble sending fireworks anywhere. Especially in this day and age. Quote
