xianhua Posted March 2, 2010 at 07:50 PM Report Posted March 2, 2010 at 07:50 PM Does anybody know if such a website exists whereby I can practise Chinese KTV/karaoke? I need to get some practise in before our forthcoming trip to China. I can access the necessary videos through Youtube but then I'm simply singing along on top of the existing singer. To know if I'm in tune and on time, I'll need just the music with the words coming up on screen. Maybe it's a tall order, but if such a website exists please let me know. I'm sure you can hook up microphones and get DVD's for doing it properly, but this will have to do for now. Thanks in advance. Quote
Herbert Posted April 9, 2010 at 04:16 PM Report Posted April 9, 2010 at 04:16 PM If it's not already to late; try YouTube again with headphones. I recently began watching Chinese KTV videos to practice learning the characters. I noticed that some of them have the correct channel structure and you lose the words simply by leaving out one earphone. The right side in the videos I have noticed so far. Quote
GaoLao888 Posted April 10, 2010 at 11:19 PM Report Posted April 10, 2010 at 11:19 PM My friends in Xiamen used to always sing this song at the KTV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Da9_GAdz_Zk So I when I went home I taught myself all the words. The next time I went back I told them "Hey, play Bu Pa Bu Pa," and I sang the whole thing. Blew their socks off! They thought it was so cool that I could an entire song in Chinese. 1 Quote
c_redman Posted April 12, 2010 at 12:05 AM Report Posted April 12, 2010 at 12:05 AM Audacity can potentially do vocal removal, if you have a decent mp3 or similar file. This doesn't address the lyrics, though. Quote
Lu Posted April 12, 2010 at 09:52 AM Report Posted April 12, 2010 at 09:52 AM I've heard you can simply search for '[song title] karaoke' in youtube to find the necessary material. Not sure if it works for Chinese songs too, but perhaps you can try this. Quote
