xiaoya Posted March 7, 2010 at 04:11 AM Report Posted March 7, 2010 at 04:11 AM Hi all, I've just arrived at Jinhua to take up my 2 year scholarship at ZJNU. It's good and I'm enjoying it, however: 1) My fiance moved to Beijing to be with me and then I got placed down here, so he's fniding it really hard (doesn't speak any Chinese). The distance is also putting a strain on our relationship. 2) I have a number of medical conditions that require ongoing care which I cannot easily get here--the biggest issue being hypothyroidism, which requires monthly maintenance blood tests. I found out I had this the day before I left Australia. 3) Though I haven't started classes yet, the universal opinion here is that the teaching is very bad--none of the teachers actually take it seriously. So I would really like to try and transfer to Beijing, either to Beida or Beishida preferably although anything would be good. I figure if I start the process now I can move there in the summer holidays and start in the fall semester. Just one problem. I have NO idea how to do this or who to talk to about it. Any advice? Cheers 晓雅 Quote
fanglu Posted March 7, 2010 at 11:12 AM Report Posted March 7, 2010 at 11:12 AM It is possible to move. I had a classmate who moved because he decided he wanted to do his MBA in english instead of chinese but our uni didn't offer it. He talked to them about it in April or so and started in the september semester at the new uni. Talk to the foreign students office, whoever is responsible for your scholarship (the person who gives you money each month). Be prepared to argue about it. Quote
